NEED FOR CHANGE STRATEGIES -Mentorship at all levels -Succession planning

MENTOR An experienced person in a company or educational institution who trains and counsels new employees or students - English Dictionary

MENTORING An experienced and trusted adviser

SUCCESSION The coming of one person or thing after another in order, sequence, or in the course of events - requires clear/effective management structure/path in place (transparent)

SUCCESSION The act of getting a title or right after the person who had that title or right before you has died or is no longer able or allowed to have it - Merriam-Webster

PERCEPTIONS The two terms are related but not the same -Confusion between the two -Need for clarification -Young professionals focus on succession -Senior professionals focus on mentorship

CHALLENGES Practicing librarians are way ahead of teachers Some Senior professionals are afraid of challenge Most Young professionals shy away from responsibility of self development
