Introduction  This PowerPoint will show give you advice on how to stay safe on the internet.  You will be told how to stay safe and what things you can look out for to avoid dangerous activities or illegal.  Throughout my presentation you will see some security issues that occur to all computer users.

Viruses  One thing you could be affected by is a virus. Keep your computer safe.  A virus is a software on your is a computer that can duplicate itself and spread from one computer to another.  A computer virus can get into your files and destroy your hard drive.

Spyware  Another issue people get when using an online device is spyware.  This is a software that self-installs on a computer, enabling information to be gathered covertly about a person's Internet use, passwords, etc.  This may lead to loss of personal information.

Phishing  Another thing you should be careful of is Phishing.  This is Where people pick out your personal details.  They put adverts up and take your information.

Spam  Spam is online communication of s that are unwanted.  Most spam is not harmless but some can be harmful to your computer.  To protect yourself against spam, use software with built-in spam filtering.

Anti virus software  To protect your computer you can download an antivirus software.  The anti virus will terminate any viruses you get and notify you.  An example of a antivirus is AVG

Pop-up Blockers  A pop up blocker prevents pop ups popping up on your computer.  Some pop up blockers close the window before it pops up.  Some pop ups disable the commands before it appears.
