Communities In Schools OJJDP Multi-State Mentoring Initiative

2 Where: 10 Affiliates in 6 states, rural and urban settings, 52 middle and high schools Who: High-need students who are at risk of dropping out of school Key Components of CIS Mentoring Programs: school-based, community partnerships, integrated student services Goals: Engage parents, train mentors, develop and deliver match activities that correlate to desired outcomes Outcomes: Increase school attendance, increase GPA, decrease/prevent involvement with JJ system CIS – School Based Mentoring
