 In North America, legal blindness is defined as a visual acuity of 20/200  39 million are blind worldwide 33% of blindness is caused by cataract

 Takes video and filters out everything but moving objects of reasonable size  As the object moves sounds are played to give location, size, and direction of movement  We believe that our idea is innovative since it detects only moving objects

 Need to isolate moving object ◦ Use frame subtraction to detect movement ◦ Take into account movement from camera ◦ Remove moving objects that are not of importance

 Find centroid  Use position of centroid to track object, count number of pixels in object  Play sound at different intensities according to object location and size

Add more parameters to our project (Tracking more than one object at a time etc.) Hope to turn this into an actual device, not just software simulation Hopefully it can one day be used in the real world to help people with visual impairments
