1980 Selena y Los Dinos first began performing.
1987 Received first success with Female Vocalist of the Year and Performer of the Year awards at the Tejano Music Awards.
1989 Signed by EMI Latin.
1991 First female Tejano recording artist to score a Gold Record with "Ven Conmigo".
1993 Grammy for best Mexican American performance for "Selena Live". Selena Etc. clothing manufacturing business begun.
1994 Became the first female crossover Latin artist signed to SBK, sister label to EMI Latin.
1995 Was in process of recording her first English language album. Won six Tejano Music Awards, including top female vocalist for the eighth time. Nominated for a second Grammy for "Amor Prohibido". Hispanic Business magazine reports Selena has assests worth $5 Million dollars.
