A Multiplying Mindset

1.God has a vision for multiplication Genesis 1:28 (NRSV): “God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion…’”

2. God’s kingdom will impact all of society Matthew 13:33 (NIV): “He told them still another parable: ‘The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough.’”

3. A healthy disciple is a multiplying one Matthew 13:23 “But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

What stops us multiplying? Low value: Of myself or what I do Fear: Of what I will lose if it goes wrong Comfort: I don't want to spend the time or effort involved 3. A healthy disciple is a multiplying one

4. Produces a supply of leaders Matthew 9:37-38 “Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’”

Acts 6:6-7 “These they set before the apostles, and they prayed and laid their hands on them. And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.” 4. Produces a supply of leaders
