CBE is intended to honor all forms of knowledge, ways of knowing and world views equally. The goal of CBE is to support all students through affirmation of their culture. It builds a sense of pride and self-esteem, which is the best gift any teacher can give to his/her students.” NWT Teacher Induction Program David/Imelda Perley, Wolastoq Language and Culture Centers

 The CBE program recognizes and incorporates Native American cultures and languages  The CBE program adopts pedagogical practices that reflect traditional cultural backgrounds and adult-child interactions within community contexts  The CBE program also adopts teaching strategies that are congruent with the culture of the students and in particular ways of knowing and learning David/Imelda Perley, Wolastoq Language and Culture Centers
