How LCN Provides Value To an MO Klaus Foerderer

Global Standards Management Process ©2007 GS1 US How LCN Provides Value to an MO Advantages from an MO perspective More integration of national working groups in GSMP process Avoiding the disconnect between GSMP and national work Bringing users, who are interested, but do not have time & travel resources engagement on national, European and global level is a challenge More credibility for GSMP GS1 Germany serving as service provider for user companies

Global Standards Management Process ©2007 GS1 US How LCN Provides Value to an MO How we did it…. Integration of existing working groups and explaining to them the advantages and possibilities Having GS1 Germany experts within the GSMP process Regular monthly telephone conferences and information to LCN members Updates within the regular physical meetings of these groups

Global Standards Management Process ©2007 GS1 US How LCN Provides Value to an MO How we did it…. Currently 50 members from Our EAN-steering group eBusiness expert group AutoID expert group Master Data experts from SA2 user group Out of this active members participating in the voting

Global Standards Management Process ©2007 GS1 US How LCN Provides Value to an MO Success Factors Involvement of the LCN members into the GSMP work: Not only feedback-questions, also updates and background information on current developments Feedback from BRGs and integration of LCN position into BRG work Supporting Change Requests and Requirements from our community Having a real voice within the process, otherwise LCN members will loose interest and credibility of GSMP will decrease GSMP LCN must be a lively process! Meaning information, feedback from BRG discussion, feedback questions etc.

Global Standards Management Process ©2007 GS1 US How LCN Provides Value to an MO Outlook for the future Global: More interaction between GSMP and LCN & among LCNs Stronger voice of LCN More countries to join Physical LCN members meets BRG meeting during the GSMP & JAG joint event in October
