An Introduction CUCSA The Council of University of California Staff Assemblies

Mission In support of the mission of the University of California, the purpose of the Council of UC Staff Assemblies (CUCSA) is to maintain and enhance communication within the University Community on matters of interest to staff employees in accordance with California laws and Regent policy.

 Each campus including LBNL & UCOP has one senior & one junior delegate (24)  The term for each delegate is two years.  You are a junior your first year and a mentoring senior your second year.  There are also three officers: Chair, Chair-elect and Secretary.  The Chair-elect becomes Chair in year two; the Secretary serves one year.  All delegates must be non-represented, career staff  4 workgroups each year Membership

Work Flow  The delegation of 27 meets the first Wednesday through Friday each quarter at rotating campuses including LBNL & UCOP in the months of Sept, Dec, March and June.  At those meetings staff issues are brought forward for discussion and consideration.  Vetted issues are brought forward to OP leadership via CUCSA officers and OP representation at CUCSA meetings.  Each CUCSA meeting is host to presentations from local speakers and administrators from UCOP.  Leadership meetings with HR, EVP, President, others

Notable Accomplishments  Promoted partnerships between faculty and staff  Supported benefits for non-traditional families  Critical in the creation of the Staff Advisor to the Regents position  Had a direct role in the change to Post Employment Benefits for the betterment to staff  Worked with OP to create systemwide job board

Benefits  Being a CUCSA delegate is a fantastic opportunity to build community and to support and be the voice of your fellow staff members.  You will get the opportunity to visit many other campuses and network with fellow staff members across the whole UC.  You will have the opportunity to spend intimate meeting time with campus leaders, members of OP and great leaders from across the state.
