Global Standards Management Process ©2007 GS1 US WO# – Question from Party Synchronisation The Enhanced Party Synchronisation Work Group (WG) is interested in knowing how the processing of Party information is carried out today in your company's databases and how the children below the referenced Party identifier are currently being handled. 1.The workgroup is recommending that the deletion of a parent GLN contained in a hierarchy will invalidate and delete all child GLNs contained in that parent. 90% agreement with Work Group 2. The workgroup is recommending that changes to a GLN record do not require sending the entire hierarchy or hierarchies in which the GLN is contained. This is different than item processing. For a change to a GLN record, a transaction will be sent which replaces the entire record for the GLN being updated, along with an attribute to indicate the parent GLN of this record in order to facilitate processing by the recipient. 80% disagreement with Work Group 3. The workgroup is proposing that the Party synchronization list processing be modeled after the item synch list processing. This means that the data source will publish one or more hierarchies to each recipient, using the GLN of the highest level of the individual hierarchical configuration. The data recipient may respond to each hierarchy as published by the data source, using the party confirmation message. 90% agreement with Work Group
Global Standards Management Process ©2007 GS1 US WO# – Question from Physical Location Identification and Visibility Data 1.The work group has sized an example of the possible granular locations for a very large facility, and is looking to get sizing information for medium or smaller sized facilities. 2 examples of sizing provided Other input received: The need for location identifiers is dependent on the internal organization and not on the amount of facilities.
