College of Technology and Innovation TEM 194: Introduction to Technology Development. Instructors : Steve Murphey and Dan O’Neill Sid Rugh Renewable Energy And Conservation Individual Presentation

Renewable Energy And Conservation Why this is of interest to me? As an electrical contractor in Southern California I realize the value of keeping up with an evolving electrical industry that is becoming more versatile. Enhancing my electrical business with alternative energy systems in addition to the normal general commercial and industrial systems; I can achieve this goal. The main reasons why I am interested in Renewable Energy and Conservation are to enhance my existing electrical contracting business and in the process contribute to environmental conservation. I am confident that Alternative power is one of the technology’s that will revolutionize the world of power generation; and I would like my company to be a part of the technology. Hydro Electric Power at Hoover Dam

Renewable Energy And Conservation In a world of rapid technological advancements it is increasingly important that alternative sources of clean energy become available to slow down our natural resource depletion and ultimately save some of these natural resources for future generations. Overview

There are two main alternative energy concept ideas that have been functional for many years which are wind and solar energy sources. Both alternative sources have evolved and accelerated their perspective design, output and efficiency, but are still not meeting projected expectations. One of the reasons why wind power is not in the forefront, is because power generation is still being produced from the standard means using natural gas and oil and is within acceptable costs margins thus wind and solar remain to play a major role in energy production. Current state of technology

Market Forecast The forecast for alternative energy technology is that it will progressively increase as more potential customers are aware of the benefits and reliability that alternative generating systems provide.

Renewable Energy And Conservation Current Market Review There are an increasing amount of contractors and individuals entering the renewable energy and conservation industry, but do to uncertainty and reliance of traditional sources, the marketing of alternative energy generation has not been marketed to its full potential. The advocates of this relative new industry has to prove to the general public that these revolutionary new ideas are reliable. The opportunity in the market for this type industry is really good, and entrepreneurs starting to research and develop alternative generators, is increasing

Renewable Energy And Conservation Market Competition The competition is other contractors; installing, servicing and maintaining alternative energy systems who are entering the renewable energy and conservation industry.

Renewable Energy And Conservation Potential Risks Solar Wind Bridge There are risks involved including economic downturns, but due to the evolving alternative industry interest and the push to incorporate alternative more efficient energy production, the future for the industry looks good. A good strategic plan should be in place in order to minimize potential risks that may arise. The only foreseeable risk that may be a threat is keeping up with demand, which should be addressed in the strategic plan.

Renewable Energy And Conservation I plan to add alternative energy systems to enhance my existing electrical contracting business and in the process, open up opportunities in a relatively new market thus increasing my chances for success in a competitive electrical contracting industry. I would eventually like to change the wind turbine design to a concept that increases functional surface area on the turbine itself; in addition I would like to develop a standalone prototype using circuits within the wind generating unit itself which have the capability of interphasing with an optional PLC system, in other words the customer will have the option to either operate the wind generator as a standalone system or connection to the standard grid through the Programmable Logic Controlled system. How you plan to use it?

Renewable Energy And Conservation Approach to the Focus Area The most logical approach for me, as an experienced electrical contractor, is to enter the renewable energy and conservation industry as a sub-contractor.

Renewable Energy And Conservation Approach to the Focus Area Step One Add Experienced Renewable Energy and Conservation Professionals to Our Management Team

Renewable Energy And Conservation Approach to the Focus Area Step Two Increase the Workforce in the Field

Renewable Energy And Conservation Approach to the Focus Area Step Three Increase the Workforce in the Office

Renewable Energy And Conservation Approach to the Focus Area Step Four Increase Equipment Assets

Renewable Energy And Conservation Business Plan The most critical element to any successful endeavor is the business plan. An updated amendment to the original business plan is essential to the preparation of incorporating my company into the renewable energy and conservation industry.

Thank You for Your Interest in My Area of Focus Renewable Energy And Conservation My Name is Sid Rugh TEM 194: Introduction to Technology Development. Instructors : Steve Murphey and Dan O’Neill College of Technology and Innovation Arizona State University
