Project Overview  Completed July 2014, Toledo Zoo’s 2.1 MegaWatt solar array consisting of 28,000 solar panels, was developed by Rudolph/Libbe and a sister company, GEM Energy, with collaboration from TTL Associates and the City of Toledo, to generate about 30% (approx. $200,000 per year) of the zoo's annual electricity needs.  The City of Toledo utilized funding from the U.S. EPA Brownfield Coalition Assessment grant the City was awarded in 2012 to allow TTL to conduct Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments that were completed in  Through this project, The City of Toledo was awarded a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) Phytoremediation Grant through the Ohio Division of Natural Resources Division of Forestry and planted approximately 69 trees and 173 shrubs on the property. Funding  2012 U.S. EPA Coalition Assessment Fund: $88,  2012 GLRI Phytoremediation : $40,  Private Investment: $5,400,000.00
