Mission To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Boys and Girls Club of America

Goals Through Guiding Principles Be proactive by anticipating and dealing with change and growth in communities they serve. Continually develop the B&G Club Board to assure it remains the premier volunteer Board of Directors in the area. Attract, develop and retain highly competent and motivated staff. ( Strategic Plan, 4)

Goals Continued Build a culture that nurtures the individual and develops a sense of self-esteem as an important part of personal growth. Provide an innovative environment that promotes the development of new methods or practices to achieve our vision. Provide safe, positive, attractive, and clean community based facilities available for youth at times when they need positive alternatives. ( Strategic Plan, 4)

Organization The Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley is a 501( c ) (3) nonprofit agency dedicated to the care of children. They take pride in providing not only recreational but education activities that will help build life long, productive citizens with the ability to give back to their communities in a positive manner.

Corporate Board The Corporate Board of Directors is the governing body of the organization responsible for the establishment and periodic review of all policies. These personnel policies have been developed with the input of staff, but the board retain the final authority and responsibility. (Employee Handbook, 6 )

Employees President/CEO (1) is hired by the Corporate Board of Directors whose qualifications and experiences are such that he /she can administer the program and activities of the Boys and Girls Club within the policies set by the board. Answers solely to the board. Hires, discharges, and fixes compensation with Advisory Board of Directors of all administrative staff, Facility Directors. (Employee Handbook, 6 )
