The Sounds of Sovereign Hill: Music and Guns A Social Story

The Band Visitors often enjoy live music at Sovereign Hill. The band sometimes plays outside the Post Office. All the music comes from the 1850s. It is fun to listen to the band. Click above to see a movie of the band

Musket Firing The trooper is an 1850s policeman at Sovereign Hill. Each day he does a musket firing demonstration. His musket is called a carbine. It is very loud. He will tell me when to put my fingers in my ears. I will not be afraid of the noise. Click above to see a movie of the musket firing

The Redcoats fire their guns The redcoats are the soldiers at Sovereign Hill. Every day they march around the museum with a drummer to lead them. The corporal makes a speech. The Redcoats fire their guns. It is very loud. I will put my fingers in my ears when the corporal tells us to do so. I will not be scared. They are not using real bullets. Click above to see a movie of the red coats
