2 TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL MARKET REGULATORY AUTHORITY BEFORE 01/05/2010 General Warnings: Two general warning had been applied covering not less than 30 % of the external area of the corresponding surface of the unit packet of tobacco product on which it is printed. 1. Smoking kills. 2. Smoking seriously harms you and others around you. (These warnings were began to apply on 01/01/2006 after alignment of the “Directive 2001/37/EC of European Union on the approximation of laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States concerning the manufacture, presentation and sale of tobacco products”.)

Difference From the Previous Application: The place of general warnings on packets is changed.

8 TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL MARKET REGULATORY AUTHORITY AFTER 01/05/2010 Combined Warnings: They began to apply covering not less than 65 % of the external area of the corresponding surface of the unit packet of tobacco product on which it is printed. 14 pictures are determined by chosing among 42 pictures of European Commission Library. Combined warnings are composed of the combination of these pictures and 14 additional warnings used in previous application.

9 TOBACCO AND ALCOHOL MARKET REGULATORY AUTHORITY By the amendment of the Law numbered 4207 on 12/07/2012, application areas of warnings on the unit packet of tobacco products are determined as minimum 65 % for both surfaces. On the other hand, Regulation amendment, which is necessary for enforcement of aforesaid provision, has not been fulfilled yet.
