Presentation transcript:

Mrs. Karamuri visited our nursery. She came to tell us about Diwali. Charlotte, Isaac and Jack had been to a special party to celebrate Diwali at Navid and Sanjana’s house.

Mrs. Karamuri was wearing a beautiful traditional sari. Her mum had sent it from India for her. It took 3 months to sew the silver threads to make the beautiful flower patterns. It also had sequins and glass beads sewn on it.

As Diwali is a happy celebration Mrs Karamuri was wearing lots of bright colourful jewellery too. Can you count her bangles. Diwali is a Festival of Light. Look at the little candle holder. It is star shaped and painted with bright colours. Mrs. Karamuri told us that she had lots of candles lit in her house for the celebration. There were also fireworks outside at night.

We listened to a story about good overcoming bad.
