Childrens Mental Health Community Based Program Family Youth & Child Services of Muskoka School Based Intensive Services is a joint effort between FYCS of Muskoka & Trillium Lakelands District School Board

Elementary School Program Began in 2005 – Initially focused on Primary Grades 1 & 2 Contact with students by ISW a minimum of once a week for 8 weeks (group or individual) Contact with students by ISW a minimum of once a week for 8 weeks (group or individual) Meeting with the caregivers once per week Meeting with the caregivers once per week Consults with the principal once per week and as needed with the teachers. Present curriculum includes Grades 1 though 8 Program: Children who participate in the program require enhancement in the areas of conflict resolution, accepting responsibility for their actions, managing their anger & interacting with others in a positive and strength based way. The Intensive Services Worker (Tim McBride) provides: Mutual consultation with teachers and principal Mutual consultation with teachers and principal Group and individual work with the children in the school Group and individual work with the children in the school Family counseling at the school or in the community provides an opportunity for skill enhancement, modeling and support. Assets: Having a consistent worker between school, child & caregiver assists in the development of an individualized intervention plan for the child. (ie.
