 In Gen. 1, man is the only creation given commands that can be disobeyed by choice: 1 st command of God: Gen. 1:28  Be fruitful & multiply  Fill the earth & subdue it  God wants his image to spread over the whole world 2 nd command of God: Gen. 2:16,17  Don’t eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil  God wants his image to be unblemished by evil

 God told Adam not to eat the fruit, before Eve was even created.  Eve did not know God’s word very well, and was deceived.  Adam failed to adequately teach God’s word to Eve. Eve did not care enough to ask for clarification. Takeway: Sin resulted from a failure to learn and a failure to teach God’s word.
