We will ensure that all our students are exposed to a variety of instructional experiences that promote exemplary intellectual, social, and emotional growth in order to attain life-long successes in the 21 st century. In establishing such a program, we will seek the support of parents to develop productive, respectful, and responsible citizens who can meet the challenges of a technological and multicultural community in an ever changing world. We strive to assist students to think critically and creatively to problem solve and relate classroom experiences to global issues. Mission Statement

What can I do to prepare my child for kindergarten? Review with your child how he or she will come to school and go home. Be consistent. Part of the school experience is riding the bus. Starting it the first day, is a great way to start the year. If your child is going to a daycare center, please contact the office and let the us know the arrangements. FAQ’s

What if my child’s transportation changes? (i.e. play date, neighbor, relative) Any changes in the normal routine must be accompanied by a note from the parent. FAQ’s

How will I know of upcoming events? The school and grade level newsletters are available at the beginning of every month. In an effort to conserve our resources and “Go Green,” information is available on our web site. If you wish to have a hard copy, please make the request to your child’s teacher.

What if I want to pick up my child every day? If you are planning to pick up your child daily you will be assigned a parent pick up number and your child will be monitored and escorted to the parent pick up line area. FAQ’s

Can anyone come in to the school? No, the front doors are locked at 7:50 AM. After that time, all visitors must press the front outside button and the office will request an ID and reason for the visit. All persons are required to come into the office, sign in and pick up a visitors badge.

FAQ’s What do I do if my child is absent? Regular school attendance is important. When a child is absent, many learning activities take place. It is difficult to recreate the moment of learning and classroom discussion. However, if your child is sick, please call the school or absentee line

FAQ’s Will my child have lunch at school? No, lunch is not part of the kindergarten program. There is a snack time. You can pack a light (1 item and a drink) snack for your child each day.

FAQ’s What will my child learn? Children enter with varying degrees of ability. The Loudoun County Public Schools curriculum is available online for your review. Teachers will go over a kindergarten day with you.

FAQ’s Can we visit the school before the first day? We will have an Open House on Thursday, August 28 from 1:00-2:00. The time will be on your information postcard.

Home/School Communication OWL BINDER (Organized While Learning) The purpose for the binder is to help your child stay organized as they grow and learn responsibility. Binder will go home and brought back to school with your child every day. All school, teacher, and parent notes will be in the OWL binder. The binder will also include helpful information/enrichment activities to ensure your child has a successful year!
