August 2013 Updates: Alma’s celebrations continue! Alma was extra excited to get lovely cards in the post! Left: creative creations from Emma and Deena Northridge, Concord Right: a sweet card from Alison and Moshe, Quakers Hill
Left: enjoying the pink letter from Moshe and Alison Top: Alma was very excited about the Peppa Pig and Dora books from the Northridge girls. Great choices!
Alma got some more letters, among them a postcard from Lisa (USA). She wrote thank you letters back (left). Many thanks to all the well wishers!
The girls’ pen pal Noam from Haifa sent fun glow-in-the-dark butterfly stickers, and the girls were happy to stick them on Alma’s side of the room and wrote\drew replies.
Alma made butterfly goodie bags filled with mini marshmallows to share with her friends at day care.
Her teacher Lorraine made a big project out of the special day. The kids made pretend cakes and wore special hats (we brought the birthday candles hat). Then the made their own wraps for lunch and called it “Party Food” (middle). Lorraine arranged the rice puff cupcakes I brought like a cake and lit candles. Alma LOVED being in the centre of attention!
Singing, blowing candles and eating cupcakes with her friends: Cullum, Dylan. Millie and Jude.
Alma asked to bring the special hat, new watch and Penny the doll to show off at day care.
Now that she is “very officially” a “Big Girl” (with a capital “Grrr”, as Tiger would say) her toileting got upgraded to a toilet seat cover and stool and she was very excited about the change!
In our next presentation: Alma’s play date party with Jasper and Holly!
