6 WCI Editorial Process Content editors will screen and select repositories for inclusion in WCI. Determining factors include: –Who hosts the archive (academic/government institution or a large research oriented corporation?) –Is the archive well maintained? I.E. are the links fresh, is it frequently updated with new content, does content have a date stamp? –Does the archive have any sort of selection process itself for what is posted? If not, is there a process in place fore removing inappropriate content? –Is the full text available for most items? –Is a fill list of documents available via browsing or are documents only available via a search? –What format are the documents available in? PDF, Post Script etc? –What is the overall structure of the archive? Is it OAI compliant or does it use DSpace or Eprints software? If not does it apply its own structure to all documents?
