The Role of an Event Boss This presentation goes over some of the roles and responsibilities of an Event Boss during a special event.

Personnel In the following pages the Responsibilities of the Event Boss in regards to personnel working at an event, are outlined.

Personnel The Event Boss is responsible for: –Insuring all personnel show up at required time. –Insuring all personnel get appropriate restroom breaks –Insuring all personnel get appropriate breaks for food (if necessary).

Personnel Cont. Event Boss needs to ensure all personnel bring required gear. –Vest –Gloves –Whistle –Flashlight –Rain Coats (if necessary) –Winter Jacket (if necessary) –Shoe Grips (if wanted) –White MSU Hat (if necessary for event) –Black MSU Event Shirt (if necessary for event)

Personnel – Cont. Event Boss authority: –The Event Boss is authorized to send personnel home in the following situations: Sleeping on duty Uncooperative Workers –Any worker that does not follow Event Boss orders.

State Vehicles In the following slides the Responsibilities of the Event Boss in regards to the use of State Vehicles is outlined.

State Vehicles Mileage –Annotate Beginning Mileage –Annotate Ending Mileage Fueling of Vehicles –All vehicles with ¾ or less fuel in tank must be fueled up. (Topped off)

State Vehicles – Cont. Cleanliness of Vehicles –All State Vehicles must be cleaned out prior to turning in. Key’s in Drop Box –All keys for State Vehicles placed in drop box at the end of the event.

State Vehicles – Cont. All vehicles must returned to their proper stalls at the end of an event. All doors locked.

TORO In the following slides the Responsibilities of the Event Boss in regards to the use of the TORO is outlined.

Use of Toro All drivers of the Toro must be familiar with a stick shift. The Toro can be used in the transfer of: –Cones –Signs –Barrels –Equipment

Use of Toro – Cont. Make sure the inside of the Toro is cleaned out after each event. Make sure no signs or cones left in back of Toro. Make sure the heater in the Toro is shut off.

Gear In the following slides the Responsibilities of the Event Boss in regards to the use of all gear is outlined.

Gear Cones –Back to stadium after an event Barrels

Gear – Cont. Signs –All white sandwich board signs to green house after events.

Gear – Cont. Toro – Back to Wiecking Center

Gear – Cont. Sign covers to Green house –Handicap –Reserved –Athletics VIP Parking

Gear – Cont. All chairs and tents back to greenhouse.

Event – Setup The event boss is required to place all personnel to guard appropriate lots. Set up all handicap signs over poles and on sandwich boards.
