3 rd Grade Kartchner Caverns & Flandrau Science Center Field Trip Parent Information Meeting August 12, 2014

Field Trip Dates November 7 th – Mrs. Schultz & Mrs. Hughes November 14 th – Mrs. Short & Mrs. McDonald December 5 th – Miss Gracia & Mrs. Van Epps

Why do we go?  Extend our Science curriculum (rocks & minerals) as well as other curriculum objectives (maps, letter writing, graphing, functional text, etc)  MEMORIES!!!

Tentative Itinerary  7:00 AM – Arrive at School & Load Buses  7:30 AM – Buses Depart Fulton  Travel to Tucson, Rock & Mineral Review and Games  9:30 – Flandrau Science Center: Mineral Museum Tour  11:15 – Load buses & Travel to Kartcher Caverns  12:15 – Arrive At Kartchner Caverns, eat lunch  Big Room Tours between 1:15 and 3:15  Load buses, get pizza dinner, head home  **Around 8:00 PM Arrive back at Fulton

Chaperones  Fee is $80  Volunteer Handbook  Lottery Drawing  We will contact you by Friday if you have chosen.  Fee will be due the following Friday

More Info.  Students need to bring:  Sack lunch  Water bottle  Snacks  Polite Behavior to represent Fulton School  We give them:  Pizza dinner, drink  Educational materials  A fantastic experience! Students need to wear: Class shirt Long pants Tennis shoes Jacket Smile!

Class T-Shirts  To help build school pride and class community, we have created third grade shirts.  Each teacher will have a different color shirt.  Child and adult sizes available  We wear our class t-shirts on our field trip, spirit days, etc.  $10 each  Order forms and payment due Wednesday, August 20 th Gracia-black McDonald-yellow Schultz-green Short-royal blue Van Epps-red Hughes-light blue
