It begins.. The word Renaissance means ‘rebirth’, or ‘revival’ and it was the rebirth or revival of interest in the learnings of Ancient Greece and Rome The learning of Greece and Rome had mostly been forgotten during the Middle Ages, but now interest was being peaked once again The Renaissance had created a spirit of enquiry that spread across all areas of knowledge- some historians look at the Renaissance as the end of the Middle Ages and the beginning of our modern world
