Shifting Gears: Non-Fiction Long ago—in September—I showed you the following slide.

Fiction vs. Non-Fiction Fiction – A made-up story – Can be about anything (trips to Mars, your imaginary best friend) – Most novels are fiction (romance, science fiction, etc.)

Fiction vs. Non-Fiction Non-Fiction – “Real” accounts of things that have happened – Can be the story of someone’s life (autobiography). – Most FCAT passages are non-fiction (Informative texts)

Shifting Gears: Non-Fiction Now, the time has come for us to change from studying fiction… And move to non-fiction stories.

So you know… Non-fiction does not have to be TRUE. It is based on reality—meaning, there is SOME TRUTH to it.
