Pooria Varahram received the Bachelor degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering from the Khaje Nasir University, Tehran, Iran in Later, he received the Master and Ph.D. degrees in Wireless Communications from Tarbiat Modares, Tehran, Iran and Universiti Putra Malaysia, in 2005 and 2010, respectively. He is a member of IEEE since He has more than 5 years of experience in designing and developing a range of electronic and telecommunication related projects. He is currently senior lecturer in UPM. He has conducted several workshops of Matlab and FPGA programming in Sharif University in Iran and UPM, Malaysia. Department of Computer and Communication Systems Engineering Faculty of Engineering, UPM MATLAB is a platform independent high-level language and interactive environment that enables engineers and scientists to perform computationally intensive tasks faster than with traditional programming languages such as C, C++ and Fortran. The workshop comprises of three modules: Day 1: MATLAB Fundamentals MATLAB Fundamentals provides a comprehensive introduction to the MATLAB technical computing environment. No prior programming experience or knowledge of MATLAB is assumed, and the course is structured to allow thorough assimilation of ideas through hands-on examples and exercises. Day 2: MATLAB for Building Graphical User Interfaces MATLAB for Building Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs) is techniques for creating easy-to-use, graphical front-ends to MATLAB code. This is a hands-on course which includes the implementation of digital phone dial pad as a case study. Day 3: Simulink for System and Algorithm Modelling This course is for engineers who are new to system and algorithm modeling and design validation in Simulink®. It demonstrates how to apply basic modeling techniques and tools to develop Simulink block diagrams.
