 The man behind the genius which is the taco is unknown to this world  Hernan Cortes is a suspect  We do know that it originates in The Mexico  In 1914 tacos started appearing in the US of A  In California, appeared in Bertha Haffner-Ginger’s cookbook. “California Mexican-Spanish Cook Book”  "made by putting chopped cooked beef and chili sauce in a tortilla made of meal and flour; folded, edges sealed together with egg; fried in deep fat, chile sauce served over it." - California Mexican-Spanish Cook Book on Tacos.

 In today's world the taco lives on. Thousands of restaurants sell this item. It is loved by the world. The taco has come down to two kinds, the authentic original from Mexico, and the Tex- Mex taco.  Tex-Mex tacos are sold mainly by two contenders  Taco Bell  Taco Johns
