The sun is a medium sized star that radiates energy from nuclear fusion reactions in its core. The small fraction of energy from the sun is enough power the wind, plant growth, and the water cycle. All the renewable energy comes directly or indirectly from the sun. We use direct solar energy everyday. When the sun shines in your window and heats up your room by solar power. Passive solar heating uses the sun energy to heat something directly.

The south facing windows receives the most solar energy, so passive solar building have large windows that face the south. Passive solar buildings must be well insulated win thick walls and floors in order to prevent heat loss In the summer the sun’s path is high in the sky ant the overhang of the roof shades the building and keep it cool In the winter she sun’s path is lower in the sky and the sunshine in your house which warms it A average house hold can reduce energy bills by using passive solar energy
