Clover Hill Primary School Our Conservation Area Project 2009

The perfect place… BUT….

It’s bare and dark…

Nothing grows…..

The pond has dried up...

Nothing can live here….

Children run through and play dropping litter ….

There is no wildlife to study…

What we would like…. Our dreams, hopes and plans for a new Conservation area……

Paving stones around the pond would keep us safe

Gravel around the pond would keep the area dry

A fence for wildlife protection and privacy

We could make feeders to attract birds

We could make boxes to encourage nesting

Log seating would be ideal

Homes for small animals and insects would be perfect

We made our own Eco-Code to follow at school and at home

WE WILL…..WE WILL….. WE WILL…… Expect to use only energy efficient lightbulbs Never leave taps running Very deep baths use more energy than a quick shower Instead of using the car, walk or cycle to school Recycle your rubbish Only use what you need Never drop litter Make our own compost from fruit and vegetable waste Eat healthy foods Never leave lights on in empty rooms Teach our friends and families to look after our environment

It’s your Environment So …. look after it!
