Division of the State Architect Education Code section (a)On and after July 1, 2011, all new construction projects submitted to the Division of the State Architect pursuant to this chapter shall include locks that allow doors to classrooms and any room with an occupancy of five or more persons to be locked from the inside. (b)The locks shall conform to the specifications and requirements set forth in Title 24 of the California Code of Regulations. (c)Doors that are locked from the outside at all times and pupil restrooms are exempt from the requirements of this section.

Title 5 Design Principle California Code of Regulations, (b): “If the site is less than…the acreage required…the district shall demonstrate how the students will be provided an adequate educational program including physical education…” By policy, if site is 70% or less of the required acres, physical education plan to be submitted.
Title 5 Design Principle Education Code Sections 51222, 51223, 51241,51242: Elementary: 200 minutes of physical education every 10 days Secondary: 400 minutes of physical education every 10 days –Mandatory for grades one additional year, grades 10 – 12, if student has passed 9 th grade fitness test –Local school board may grant athletes and 16 year-olds completing 10 th grade a waiver from physical education.
