State of the Environment report 2011 This report occurs across Australia and is a snapshot of the health of whole Australian environment. This is used to compare with other years so scientists can track our impacts on the country. One major criticism of this report is that it is does not provide a 100% accurate picture as there is a lack or accurate data.

Atmosphere Biodiversity Coasts and oceans Inland waters Land Human settlement Natural and cultural heritage Australian artic territory

Headlines The main influences on the Australian environment are climate change, population growth and economic growth. 22.2m in m by 2050! The earth has warmed in the last century by 1 0 C Urban air pollution management is good but ill health effects are a serious concern. Australia will struggle to meet it’s water needs. Natural and cultural heritage is good but being eroded by nature and lack of funding. Marine environment is good. Soil and land are badly effected by farming and past human activities causing erosion and acidity.

` For each aspect of the report 1.Describe in apect 2.Outline two favourable and unfavourable points. 3.Relate the aspect back to an environment we have studied.
