Big Prospects of the Russian Market (3)  Level of income and savings:  According to federal law, monthly minimum subsistence level in Russia is about 120 Euro.  At the same time in 2008 average monthly income per person in Russia was about 500 Euro (approximately Euro per family per year).  And in Moscow average monthly income per person in 2008 was above 1000 Euro (about Euro per family per year).  “Russian economy is fast growing, mainly because of inflow of oil related assets. Direct foreign investments to Russia are also growing. These financial resources will gradually increase welfare of the Russian average class. We believe that within the next ten years the Russian population will be getting wealthier and wealthier. We take Russian market seriously, that is why we plan to invest considerable financial resources into the Russian market” (from the interview of head of ING Insurance in Central Europe).  In 2007 ING Group was planning to invest 220 Million Euro into the development of ING Insurance subsidiary in Russia. 6 Sources:
