Russia By Rhea Deshpande

Languages The main language is Russian. They also speak German, Armenian, Ukrainian and Tatar.

Food They love borscht soup. Russian families have tea together. First they have salad. Then they have fish or meat with potatoes. Desert might be sweet cream cake or cool slices of watermelon.

School They go to school ages They stand up when a teacher or principal comes into a classroom. On the first day of school they bring flowers to their teachers. Their alphabet is called Cyrillic. They also learn English.

Clothing Women dress in short skirts, high heels and a fair amount of makeup. All boys and some girls wear jeans.

Homes In the city they live in small apartments. Grand parents often live with their families. In the country they live in houses and apartments.

Leisure Activities They read, see movies, watch TV, play card games and go to museums. People also take ballet and learn to play the guitar. Soccer is also a favorite pastime.
