The Honorable Rick Scott Governor of Florida The Capitol Tallahassee, Florida Dear Governor Scott: This is in response to your August 6, 2012, appeal for a major disaster declaration for the State of Florida as a result of severe storms and flooding during the period of June 9-11, You specifically appealed the denial of your request for Individual Assistance for Escambia County and Hazard Mitigation for the entire state. After a thorough review of all the information contained in the initial request and your appeal, we reaffirm our original findings that the impact from this event is not of the severity and magnitude that warrants a major disaster declaration. Therefore, I must inform you that your appeal for a major disaster declaration is denied. I regret that a favorable conclusion could not be reached in this case. Sincerely, Craig Fugate Administrator
