Purpose of this presentation: review the EEDA sections that are unique to the the work of the middle school career specialists (MSCS) identify career resources, activities, and programming that other MSCS find useful enable you to identify other MSCS for networking provide tips for enhancing your students career development inform you of continual professional development opportunities for GCDFs
Section During the school year, the SDEs guidance and counseling model must provide standards and strategies for school districts to use and follow in developing and implementing a comprehensive guidance and counseling program in their districts.
Section During the schools year, the SDE is to Begin implementing a career development plan for educational professionals in career guidance that provides awareness, training, release time, and preparatory instruction. This must include certified school guidance counselors effectively involving parents or guardians in the guidance and IGP development process.
Section During the school year, SDEs Comprehensive Developmental Guidance and Counseling Model and the Career Guidance Model career awareness and exploration activities must be integrated into the curricula for students in the first through fifth grades.
