753 BC: Legendary founding of Rome  Romulus & Remus  Romulus killed his brother & established city on Palatine Hill  By 600 BC the seven hills had unified into a single town  Quirinal, Viminal, Esquiline, Capitoline, Palatine, Aventine, Caellan
