4. ALWAYS wear safety goggles and aprons! – And other protective gear as needed 5. Always wear the right clothing; closed-toe shoes = NO sandals; tie back long hair

6. No food or drinks in the lab. 7. Always clean up lab area after every experiment. 8. Always wash hands after every lab.

9. Absolutely no horse-play during a lab. 10. USE COMMON SENSE. HAVE FUN AND LEARN!

** Rules for the Field ** Following applicable lab rules and… Watch for snakes, ants, bees/wasps, mosquitoes Wear long pants, sleeves, hat Stay hydrated Use sun screen

1. Wear a lab apron 2. Tie back long hair, secure loose clothing, and jewelry.

1. Wear gloves 2. Allow hot items to cool before handling items

1. Check glassware for cracks and chips 2. Wear gloves to pick up broken glass not your bare hands. 3. Place broken glass in proper disposal container.

1. Heat source must be attended while it is turned on. 2. Know where fire blanket and extinguisher are located

1. Seek ways to minimize or recycle chemical waste. 2. ALWAYS dispose of waste properly per lab instructions or your teacher.
