Equipment Every student is expected to provide the following basic items of equipment for every lesson: black or blue pen (and a spare one) pencil, pencil eraser and pencil sharpener coloured pencils highlighter ruler Your Planner!!!!

Your Planner : o Plan your work o Manage your time o Record your achievements o Review your progress o Set Targets for improvements All this is to help YOU… Your planner will only be of benefit if you use it and keep it up to date. Your teachers will help you with some of the details but it is up to you to include information which is important to you. Remember to record things which you have achieved both in and out of Ellis Guilford School. Your planner is a means of communication between you, your form tutor, our teachers and your parents. Make sure that they see the planner and sign it every week.

Ellis Guilford Uniform All students in years 7-11 are expected to wear the uniform of: black school blazer with teal collar trim black, teal and silver school tie badge in House colour worn on blazer lapel plain white shirt (this can be long or short sleeved) with a closed neck collar plain black school trousers or fully pleated skirt worn on the knee (no leggings, canvas, jeans, sweatshirt or corduroy material) No trousers should be skin tight, therefore styles which cling to the skin or are a skinny fit are not allowed. Tapered, tailored trousers are acceptable provided they are not skin tight. black leather or leather look school shoes (no boots, trainers, pumps, suede or canvas shoes will be accepted)

Plain white shirt (this can be long or short sleeved) with a closed neck collar Both should be white with a standard shirt collar fastened at the top to attach tie comfortably Both need to be tucked in at all times If you choose to wear a vest top or T shirt underneath it must be PLAIN WHITE no logos and not visible.

Hairstyles and hair coverings No extreme hairstyles are allowed. This includes shaved hair patterns and hair dyes or extensions that are outside of the natural range of hair colours. If a student needs to cover their hair for religious reasons the hair covering should be plain and dark. All girls headbands should be plain black in colour. Jewellery Jewellery should be kept to a minimum of a watch and one pair of small stud earrings worn in the ear lobe. All jewellery must be removed for PE and other practical lessons. Tattoos No visible tattoos are allowed in school and must be covered. Piercings Students should not wear any visible facial piercings (this includes tongue piercings). Students will be expected to remove piercings before they get to school. They will not be allowed to wear clear retainers or to cover up piercings with a plaster. Any facial piercings will be confiscated if seen. Nails and make-up Nails should be no longer than 0.5 cm beyond the end of the finger and should be of a natural colour with no gems or decoration. If make-up is worn it should be minimal and natural with no lipstick.

The school uniform is compulsory. Students must wear their uniform to and from school as they are representing their school in our community. No hoodies allowed. Outdoor coats may be worn over the blazer. Any student arriving without the correct uniform will be asked to do one of the following: return home to get changed wear uniform provided by the school remain in isolation until the situation is resolved
