Coachfederation.org/ICFGlobal2012 Starting at Step 2 : Coaching trios What comes up for you about your own personal resilience? Engage with resilience

Coachfederation.org/ICFGlobal2012 ‘Resilience = (Bounce Back x Speed) + Energy Recovered + (Learning x Application)’ You can think of resilience like an engine, with three parts, two stable and one moving: The Internal Resources: Stable How easy is it for you to accept yourself? Who says you’re ok? How optimistic are you? How realistic are you? What do you believe about your judgement? How emotional are you when faced with strong emotions of others? How easily can you laugh at yourself? How well do you learn? How easily do you forgive? (include yourself!) How much do you need others? How often do you ask for help? Is it easy? The Adaptive Capacity: Moving, keep it topped up How often do you refresh your own energies? What/who helps you get perspective? How well do you know your own capacity and its limits? What happens when you get face something unexpectedly demanding? How do you manage your own pacing? How often do you say no to other things? The External Goal: Stable Are your goals meaningful for you? How much compromise do you make? How easy is it to stay on track? How adaptable are you? Overall Resilience How do you rate your own resilience? (1-10)

Coachfederation.org/ICFGlobal2012 Pacing 75-90% 100% Capacity Usage Time Paced Use of Capacity. Steady-ish curve, optimum level. Involves ruthless rejection of unnecessary tasks. Poorly paced use of capacity. Says yes to many low priority items, keeps rising to the challenge, but resulting usage is peaks and troughs. Overall result is less efficiency. Resilience Insight 1
