A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR THE NEW YEAR

2 Cor. 4:18- “We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

What if you had a way of looking into the future?

We do know what is going to happen in our future. Either we will die Or Christ will come and take us home to Heaven.

In light of this there are two important questions for the followers of Jesus at RCBC to ask ourselves:

Do we believe that?

Even more important: Are we living our lives based on that belief?

This focus on life has changed many people’s lives in years past.

Hebrews 11:14, 16- “All these great people died in faith. They did not get the things that God promised his people, but they saw them coming far in the future and were glad.

They said they were like visitors and strangers on earth.... They were waiting for a better country-a heavenly country.

So God is not ashamed to be called their God, because He has prepared a city for them.”

One of those mentioned in Hebrews 11 is Noah. Another one mentioned is Abraham.

We are blessed to have inside information about our future. So what are we going To do with that information?

It’s unfortunate that the only time that most people think about eternity is at a funeral.

For a follower of Jesus it should be the business of every day to focus on eternity and what awaits us.

Philippians 3:7: “I once thought all these things were so very important, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done.”
