Africa is a continent of contrast. On the one hand, it is blessed with many natural resources, natural beauty and wonderful people

On the other hand, it’s facing poverty, war, corruption, tyranny and AIDS

According to a recent report of the British Government, more than 12 millions children in Sub-Saharan Africa are orphans, after their parents died of AIDS. Since 2010, this number raised to 43 millions

For example, in Uganda – one of the poorest countries in the world – official statistics show that approximately 2 millions children remained orphans because of the AIDS victims

In some countries the average life expectancy has dropped to 30 years.

Africa’s huge external debt, which raises up to 300 billions $, is the biggest obstacle to the development of the continent

In Niger, 70% of the 124 millions population is poor. This West African country is the fifth greatest oil exporter in the world.

The latest UNICEF’s report mentions that every fourth person of the population lives in “unimaginable suffering and wishes death”
