O BJECTIVES FOR T ECHNOLOGY W HAT YOU SHOULD LEARN BY THE END OF MY CLASS Master basic computer operations Turning a computer on and off Identifying key terms of computer lingo Master Microsoft Word basic operations How to open and save correctly How to format your text Master Microsoft Power Point basic operations How to add graphics, animation, timing How to change backgrounds, create templates Understand how to use the internet correctly Using a search engine, key words to type etc. Gain better typing skills. Identify the home keys, type at least WPM Feel more comfortable using a computer.

E ACH DAY … 5 Point Effort Grade 1 point- student follows arrival procedures and was on time for class 1 point- student listens and follows all directions 1 point- student works quietly and efficiently 1 point- student respects the classroom and others 1 point- student follows end of class procedures

A CADEMIC G RADES Projects will be assessed using a 4 point rubric or grading scale. These will be given or shown each time there is a new project. To receive 4 points: All work is completely done. To receive 3 points: Most of the work is completely done. To receive 2 points: Some of the work is done. To receive 1 point: Little or none of the work is done. To receive 0 points: None of the work is completed.

G RADES Your grade will be assigned as follows: A 90%-100% B 80%-89% C 70%-79% D 60%-69% F 60% or below

E VERY F RIDAY … You have a ‘Technology Article’ due. You may use the newspaper, a magazine, a journal, or the internet (credible source)to find an article that is related to TECHNOLOGY is some way. Read the article and write a one page, double spaced, modern 12 pt. font summary of what you read. Must include the following criteria. Summary of the article, in your words One thing you liked about the article One thing you didn’t like about the article How this affects or could affect you right now or in the future. All work needs to be cited correctly.

T ECHNOLOGY A RTICLE … Worth 10 points each. 2 points for format and correct use of 6 trait writing skills. 2 points for article summary. 2 points for identifying one good and one bad detail. 2 points for how it has or will affect you. 2 points for citing the source correctly. Any missing or incomplete portions will result in a “0” for the assignment.
