Terms Triumvirate: a group of three powerful or notable people or things existing in relation to one another.

Terms Ellipsis: omission in a speech or writing of a word or words that are unnecessary or able to be understood from context clues. “I pledge allegiance…of the United States of America.”

Terms Aside: a remark spoken in an undertone by a character to another character or to the audience

Terms Soliloquy: a speech in which a character speaks his/her private thoughts aloud.

Terms Blank Verse: unrhymed poetry written in iambic pentameter. (Rhythm, no rhyme)

Terms Iambic Pentameter: fixed pattern of rhythm or meter in which most lines contain five unstressed syllables, each followed by a stressed syllable.

Terms Pun: the numerous use of a word or phrase so as to emphasize or suggest its different meanings or applications.
