Finding include … Rates of teenage pregnancy 25% higher than the national average Abortion rates rising by 4% a year, with 1 in 4 under the age of 25 having had one or more previous abortions Ten inner city wards account for around 46% cases of gonorrhea, 54% syphilis, 32% teenage pregnancies, 37% terminations and 30% terminations under the age of 20 years

Trends in Birmingham Latest ONS figures (provisional) for per 1000 girls aged in 2006 to 52.8 in ,119 conceptions to under 18 years with 51% being terminated Compared to England and the West Midlands, Birmingham has seen a slight decrease in trend with an achievement of - 9.5% decline compared to -8.2% across the region and to a -10.7% overall decline nationally
