COURSE TITLE: Achieving Part L Compliance and BER using SBEM
This course covers: Building Energy Rating of Non-dwellings/ Commercial Buildings for the EPBD in Ireland. New Buildings Regulations using Part L Compliance Checks. Key outcomes for participants: Subject to professional experience and qualification they will qualify to take the BER assessor exam for non-commercial buildings. Shall be able to model building designs in compliance with new building regulations.

SoftwareSoftware SEI review of existing methodologies in EU Conclusion: Ireland will adapt the Simplified Building Energy Model (SBEM), the National Calculation Methodology (NCM) used in the UK, as the Non-domestic Energy Assessment Procedure (NEAP).
Dual role of NEAP/SBEM
Competent persons/approved assessors BER assessment may only be completed by registered BER assessors. SEI- prospective assessors will be required to join an approved/ accredited “competent persons” scheme. Specific examinations, assignments or other criteria will be aligned with terms of relevant “competent persons” schemes
