However, there is a steep learning curve associated with the use of the Methods of Ilizarov. Thus, proper training is needed in order to ensure good clinical results. The 13th Basic Course and Workshop on the Methods of Ilizarov is designed to introduce the participants to the basic sciences and theories that serve as the foundation of treatment with the Methods of Ilizarov. The participant will be taught practical tips / guidelines on how to apply the Ilizarov Ring Fixator in simple cases. Aside from the lectures and hands-on application of the rings on saw bones, understanding of the principles will be reinforced with discussions of actual cases.
