Research Penn State – Summer College Opportunity Program (SCOPE) (4 week program currently offered) (10 th grade students) Central Michigan University – King, Chavez & Parks (KCP) 4-Day Program Teaching as a Career Program offered in the 1990’s & early 2000’s. (9 th - 11 th ) Objectives of EXCITE! Explore reasons for selecting teaching as a career. Determine how individuals become teachers and obtain the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to realize success Examine a range of teaching careers and current practices in education Chart a course of action toward becoming a teacher’ Recognize the need for a diverse pool of teachers

The information I gathered and the friendly people The friends I made and living on campus Ms. Flagge was the best! The fun activities The staff and kids Meeting new people I loved all the great opportunities that the program opened my eyes to. I loved all the generosity & excitement all the counselors and teachers. The people tha I met Everything and staff, Purdue University atmosphere, most importantly the experience and my passion for teaching I made a lot of friends The new people that I met. You got to meet new people, and talk about teaching for a whole week. I really like all the new information I've received at EXCITE! Everything The Activities Meeting new people and seeing the campus Camp Sparks was a new experience for me. go to the camp

Eat at different dining courts no response More rec room time! You can extend the lights out time; it is better when we can stay and hang out with the other kids no response Break time Maybe make it longer because I thought it went by too too fast. Excite is amazing. No changes, but (walking). Love this place and would love to be apart of EXCITE program if/when I come to Purdue. need breaks More break times in between classes. I would think tutoring at a place more like camp sparks would be good. nothing Students should get to see more of the campus. Not the same place everytime. Wake up later! not walking as much
