H OW VACCINES WORK Vaccines contain a dead or weakened version of the virus. Upon entering the body, the B cells alert the immune system that a pathogen has entered. This then signals the B Cells to create antibodies. The antibodies and the Killer T cells then go out and destroy the antigen. This creates antibodies that are designed to fight off the virus.
