Social Studies textbook adoption led to the purchase of SOL correlated content readers in grades K-3 and local grade 4 standards New locally developed curriculum for grade 4 in response to K-12 strand data analysis noting student need for more emphasis on geography Social Studies textbook adoption grades 5-12 led to purchase of class sets of Virginia specific editions of textbooks aligned to the SOL. In addition to textbooks, teacher and student laptops will be used to expand curriculum and instruction opportunities through eResources correlated to the new SOL. Remaining funds budgeted for eResources : increasing the number of student laptops and implementation of Stratalogica, an online atlas and mapping program to improve geographic content in all social studies classes Economics/Personal Finance courses to be implemented with next year’s freshman class. No SOL test at this time, but must pass each course to graduate by 2015
