You can read a P advertising the film, which is usually displayed outside the cinema. You may have seen a T for a new movie which hits cinemas at the beginning of next month.

You can read numerous R S in a magazine or on the internet, where critics express their opinion of the film. Meryl Streep won rave (= enthusiastic) reviews as Margaret Thatcher in the Iron Lady.

There are plenty movie rating S S on the internet that you can check out.

You get personal R S from your friends who probably have the same tastes and interests „ „ You should check this film out, I heard it´s awsome.“

You can read a POSTER advertising the film, which is usually displayed outside the cinema. You may have seen a TRAILER for a new movie which hits cinemas at the beginning of next month. You can read numerous REVIEWS in a magazine or on the internet, where critics express their opinion of the film. There are plenty MOVIE RATING SITES on the internet that you can check out. You get personal RECOMMENDATIONS from your friends who probably have the same tastes and interests

Foreign films are either DUBBED or shown with SUBTITLES. The first public performance of a film is PREMIERE.

The tickets are sold in the BOX OFFICE. A film which is very successful and draws in large audiences is called a BOX- OFFICE HIT or a BLOCKBUSTER.

AUDIENCE = all the people who are watching a film in the cinema.( used with sg or pl verb) The cinema AUDIENCE sit/ sits in rows.

The audience sit in ROWS. Would you rather sit at the back or near the SCREEN?

CAST = all the actors and actresses who play the characters in a film STAR = (n) an actor who plays the LEADING PART in a film STAR = (v) to be one of the main actors in a film Meryl Streep is to star in a new romantic comedy. OR to have somebody as a star: The film stars Kate Winslet. CO-STAR (v) is used if there are two main characters.

At the end of the film I like to read the CREDITS = people who participated in making a film including the SCRIPTWRITER( the author of the SCREENPLAY), DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, CAMERAMAN, COSTUME DESIGNER, MAKE-UP ARTIST etc.
